US NAVY AUTHORIZED BOOTS

Specifically designed with the needs of seaman in mind, Navy Working Uniform III (NWU III) boots can tackle even the most challenging ship, aircraft, and land operations. The best US Navy boots have the following features:

• High-traction outsoles to protect against Foreign Object Damage (FOD) accidents.
• Heavy-duty leather construction that resists wear, tear, and abrasion.

US NAVY AUTHORIZED NWU III BOOTS:

Standard issue NWU III boots are black leather with a 9" ankle and matching outsole. However, there are certain situations when other types of boots can be worn. United States Uniform Regulations (NAVPERS 15665J) states that there are three types of boots authorized for wear with US Navy Type III Working Uniforms:

• Black Boots: Smooth finished leather that is buffed with polish and kept free of scuffs and scratches.
• Coyote Brown Boots*: Rough side-out leather kept brushed and maintained using boot cleaner that has been specifically formulated for suede.
• Brown Leather Boots*: Smooth leather to be buffed with shoe polish.

*Rough side-out coyote brown boots and smooth brown leather boots are authorized for optional wear. Check with your CO for direct guidance.
